Best yet, replace your morning drink with a green juice or green smoothie!  Instead of eggs in the morning, why not eat a piece of fresh fruit, instead?

These are simple changes that add up to big results. When you cut acidic foods, like dairy, eggs, wheat, caffeine, and anything with food coloring or preservatives out of your diet, you are left with the best foods available. Fresh, whole fruits, vegetables, non-glutenous grains, and lean meats. You can almost live forever on foods like these. Which brings us to step 2 in our body cleanse to lose weight.

Step 2: Eat More Whole Foods

Whole foods are nutrient dense. This means they contain a lot of vitamins and other essential ingredients in just a few calories, or packed in with cleansing, healthy fiber. Leafy green lettuce, broccoli, carrots, and just about any fresh fruits are examples of nutrient dense foods in a body cleanse to lose weight. If you notice, some of the most fibrous foods around are sugary fruits. This is because sugar, combined with fiber, gives us energy without giving us overload and stressing out our pancreas. Learning to get our sweet fix from apples, plums, and peaches can go a long, long way toward weight loss. Simply eating 2 to 3 servings of fresh or steamed vegetables a day can take us the rest of the way.

So, for those who feel they aren’t sure what to eat once bread, noodles, and dairy are out of the picture, here is your answer. Quinoa, amaranth, oats, zucchini, carrots, eggplant, potatoes, and any fresh fruit or vegetable, raw nut (no peanuts) or seed, bean or legume is an excellent choice. This means there is plenty of fresh food available on your body cleanse to lose weight. Salads are your best friend, so is any clean organic fruit. It will be hard to switch to just eating plain raw, unprocessed foods, though, which brings us to step 3.

Step 3: Be Patient, Don’t Try to Be Perfect:

While in the beginning of a cleanse it is very important that you stay away from processed foods, caffeine and other problem foods for at least three to five days, in the maintenance phases, it is okay to cheat a little with your favorites from time to time. Don’t guilt trip yourself over eating a few potato chips or enjoying a candy bar, simply make sure the majority of your day reflects healthy, natural eating, and a preference for whole, natural foods!
