<p>Whether you want to lose weight, feel great, or overcome certain health problems, you can benefit from ridding your body of toxins. Detoxing means giving your body a chance to let go of all the harmful substances which build up in your lungs, liver, kidneys and other organs throughout the years. While it may sound strange at first, this is something your body is made to do.</p>
<p>Every day, your body works to renew cells, fight off disease, and eliminate toxins through the breath, skin, and through bodily waste. Before the days of increased environmental pollution from chemical cleaners, the burning of fossil fuels, and the waste products of mining and other industries, our lungs, livers and skin could keep up, in most part, with the low levels of environmental toxins entering our bodies. Before industry, overeating and the eating of processed, genetically altered, chemical-ridden food was not a problem, either. As these two factors, environmental pollution and industrialized food, have become more prevalent, the toxic loads our bodies are asked to handle daily has massively increased.</p>
<h2>A detox diet gives your body a break.</h2>
<p>Since pollutants are coming from all sides, your body is working overtime, trying to remove toxins from your system before they do too much harm. When it can’t flush them, it stores them in fat instead. This removes them from your blood stream until they can be flushed at a later date. The problem, of course, is that a later, safer time for toxin removal never comes. As your daily habits of toxic foods and a toxic environment persist, your body must find a way to store more and more toxins. They build up in your fat cells, your liver, your lungs, kidneys and colon. They grow more and more numerous until your body just can’t take it anymore. When you can no longer store or efficiently eliminate toxins, you begin to experience the consequences of a tired, sick, overloaded body.</p>
<p>Lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes, Candida infection, and chronic fatigue are all examples of disease which is caused and perpetuated by a body that is overridden by toxins. Other, more serious diseases, such as cancer and asthma are more extreme examples, but can also be directly linked with a toxic diet and environment. Hopefully, the case for a diet that helps your body remove toxins is clear.</p>
<p>If you have been living a traditional lifestyle, eating the standard American diet, and exercising less than you should, you can probably already identify the need for a change. Your, achy, tired, body, which refuses to lose weight or provide the energy you need to make it through the day, is desperate for something better. That may be why you are thinking about a diet in the first place.</p>
<p>What makes detoxing different than other diets is that this program recognizes something most diets don’t. Getting and staying detoxed is a lifestyle choice. It is not something we do for a week or a month until we lose the right amount of weight, it is something we do for ourselves and our bodies everyday. As you begin to think about cleansing your body, I hope that you will also think about food; about what it is, its importance, and where the majority of what you eat comes from.</p>
<p>The truth is that food is something nature has traditionally provided. Now, that should not be taken romantically. Often it was hard to come by, and sometimes, there was not enough at all, but the idea is that the foods in nature are the foods our bodies are best evolved to process, use, and benefit from. Fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and whole or minimally processed grains contain vitamins, minerals, fiber, sugars, and other nutrients in a complex and perfect package. In comparison, many of the processed foods we buy at the grocery store only contain fragments of these nutritional elements; i.e, bits of plant, or highly processed versions of natural foods, which have had one or more of their natural components stripped away partially or completely. After these foods are fragmented, they are artificially colored, flavored, sweetened or salted to make them palatable again.</p>
<p>When you think about it, does it make sense that we should prefer processed food over the whole food? Of course not, but the food industry has found a way to market its products so that we believe them to be delicious versions of natural foods. For instance, cheese flavored chips, or “whole wheat” crackers, or cherry flavored candy. These salty, sugary foods fool our senses and our logic, and soon we forget that they are occasional foods, and not a replacement for complete, natural sustenance.</p>

It should also exclude, at least during the initial detox phase, any caffeine, wheat, refined sugars, carbonated beverages, alcohol, or other processed, preservative-laden toxic foods.</p>
<p>Most of us, unfortunately, eat in a way which fatigues our livers and our digestive system. This means the colon becomes backed up and plugged, and, when the body is not properly eliminating,<a href="http://www.totalwellnesscleanse.com/free-report.html"> toxins</a> stay in our blood and our organs. This is why the liver becomes sluggish and inefficient. In a body that is full of harmful substances, the liver consistently soaks up more poison and sludge than it can bare.</p>
<h2>The moment we stop putting this stuff in our body is the moment we begin to cleanse.</h2>
<p>Just eliminating some of the worst foods, like caffeine, dairy, sugar and wheat is incredibly healing. Our cells begin to renew immediately and our colons, kidneys and liver start to heal. We typically also experience strong cravings for processed meals, and we can begin to feel weak, ill or nauseous when stored poisons are flushed out of our cells and flood our stomachs on their way out of the body. <p>The other thing we do to cleanse the liver, aside from stopping our harmful eating habits, is to give it plenty of cleansing, healing nutrients. This means dark, leafy greens, berries, and plenty of raw vegetables. Non-glutenous grains like quinoa and amaranth are also allowed, as are raw nuts and seeds, especially almonds and pumpkin seeds. Anything cleansing, such as fresh squeezed lemon juice, fresh garlic, or green juice is going to speed the healing and cleansing process and make us feel better, faster.</p>
<p>We can also speed the process by getting plenty of exercise. Even if it is just a vigorous walk each day, exercising will help our skin and lungs expel even more toxins, taking another load off of the liver and colon. Rebounding and bike riding are two more excellent ways to get the blood pumping and flush away harmful substances hiding in muscle and fat tissue.</p>
<p>A cleanse typically last 30 days, during which we can overcome food cravings, establish new eating habits, heal, and shed unwanted or unneeded body fat, and, most importantly, rid our bodies and livers of toxic waste. Most people experience more energy, better sleeping habits, and weight loss within the first two weeks, although those who are already underweight or at a normal weight tend to just experience additional energy and health. After one month, the cleanse is maintained through continued focus on eating whole foods and limiting others.</p>

Simply add a teaspoon of cayenne pepper, squeeze a slice of lemon into 8 oz. of warm water, and drink it down. Do this up to three times per day.</p>
