A diet like this forces your body to keep extra weight and fat. It causes fat storage, both because it is usually high in calories, especially calories from sugar, dairy, and sodium, and because this type of diet comes with chemical preservatives and other additives. Most food additives are not as safe as we think we are. A can of soda, for example, can have five or more known cancer causing agents.

Your body is built to fight these chemicals and keep them out of the blood stream where they can cause harm. Most of them are filtered by your lungs, liver, kidneys, skin and colon, but those organs can only handle so much. When there are far too many toxins for your body to take care of and eliminate, they end up stored in fat cells. Over time, they do get into the blood and cause many, many, physical ailments.

Why must you cleanse your body and lose weight together?

Toxic foods are acidic in the body. Processed foods, refined sugars, glutenous grains, eggs, dairy and caffeine are examples of toxic foods which change the pH balance of the body. Normally, your blood level is more alkaline than acidic. When poor foods change this, it paves the way for toxicity, disease, constipation, and obesity.  Simply put, toxic foods make you toxic and fat!

Since your body needs more fat cells as it becomes more and more inundated with chemicals and other harmful ingredients, shedding fat, losing weight, and feeling healthy will be very, very hard. Cleansing means changing to foods that are alkaline, healing, and nutrient rich. You must re-balance your pH and stop the flow of toxic substances.

Cleanse your body and lose weight by cutting out acidic foods and eating more fresh fruits and raw vegetables. You can also eat raw nuts and seeds, grains like amaranth and quinoa, and occasional lean meats. Your diet should be as raw and natural as possible, with nutrient-dense foods like leafy greens. You should also drink plenty of water, and get a good amount of exercise – even if only a brisk, thirty-minute walk, but do it daily.

Hopefully it is easy to see how important cleansing is to health and weight loss. If you want to be slimmer, more energetic and youthful, you have to make meaningful changes to your lifestyle, especially when it comes to eating.
