Why Does My Skin Breakout During A Cleanse?
During a cleanse, toxins that have been stored in fatty tissue and cleansing organs are breaking free. For a time, these toxins will be flooding your system and expelling themselves via the skin. This could result in a short increase in breakouts, or, in extreme cases, skin rashes.
The skin is a major organ for detox. Each pore in your skin is designed to excrete sweat that contains waste stored near the skin. Salt, water, and anything else you eat are flushed out of the body as waste through the pores. This is part of your body’s natural cleansing mechanism.
If you have sensitive, acne-prone skin, be prepared for your symptoms to get temporarily worse. The skin reflects the liver and bowels. When these two organs are overloaded, the skin will be given to frequent breakouts and other eruptions; including psoriasis and eczema.
The good news is that these symptoms are temporary. During the first few days of a cleanse, up to a week after it is begun, the detox symptoms, such as headache, nausea, and skin eruptions are at their very worst. Once these clear up and go away, however, you may notice your skin has never looked better.
When the internal body is clean, clear, and working efficiently, the skin will reflect this. Your skin will become radiant and clear, have better color, and more luster. Acne and other breakouts will be a thing of the past.
Breakouts are difficult to deal with, but they are the result of a toxic, overloaded system. Stick with the cleansing program. You will be so glad you did.
